Today, we’re talking about how to create a digital vision board. A digital vision board is a great way to capture your goals and keep them visible throughout the day. They are simple to make, use the 5 steps in this post to help you get started.
When you have a goal or dream it’s a way to create a personalized and fun plan to achieve them.
Each result that you want to achieve is easier when you keep it top of mind. Choose your thoughts to support your efforts and use the fuel of your emotions to drive constructive action. No goal will ever be reached just dreaming about it you’ve to do something and a vision board, or dream board is an excellent way to motivate you until you reach it.
One of my favourites tools is to use a vision board. Whether you call it a vision board, goal board, visualization board or dream board. Boarding is a powerful visualization tool, and a vision board is a great way to capture the essence of your dreams so you can make them a reality.
Many people go to thrift stores and collect magazines which they then cut up to get pictures, phrases and colours and glue them to a poster board. I have done this in the past and it’s fun, but most of the time I use a digital vision board because I have limited space.
The variety of vision boards is amazing. Check out some of the gorgeous examples you can find on Pinterest. Many of these are works of art.
I’LL LET YOU IN ON A SECRET. MY NEW FAVORITE WAY OF CREATING A VISION BOARD IS DIGITAL.
A digital vision board, also known as a dream board, is a collection of images and text that you can take with you wherever you go and it takes less time to create than a physical corkboard or poster board you stick on the wall. Because they are so easy to make you can make one for each of your goals or one for each of the areas of your entire life!
I know a lot of people have moved to Pinterest and are using Pinterest boards to hold their online vision board and I think while this can be a great idea it’s not the best way for me.
I spend a lot of time on my computer and phone so having the digital version is much more convenient for me. Since it’s digital I can look at my board wherever I am and at any time because it’s the wallpaper on my phone and the desktop on my computer. This keeps it top of mind so I always have my dreams at the forefront of my mind.
Here are some tips on how you can easily make your own digital vision board and use it to inspire you to reach your dreams and life goals.

Step 1: Choose a goal
Decide on one of your goals. Get super specific about what you want and why you want it. Write all the details and pull together a step-by-step action plan. Ask yourself a few questions that include:
Who do I need to become to achieve this goal? What new skills do I need? How will I track my progress? What obstacles are possibly going to get in the way and how will I overcome them?
Step 2: Decide what to put on your vision board
After you choose a goal then you want to decide what to put on your vision board. You can use your own photos or search your favourite royalty-free websites for images that represent your goals. Photos that you find inspiring and that capture your dreams. For other ideas for vision board images here are some of my favourite sites to use Unsplash, Pixabay, and Pexels.
I always like to use motivational phrases and words because they help me remember how I will feel when I achieve my goal. Here’s one of my posts with 22 Law of Attraction / Vision Board Quotes you can use as you create your own dream board.
Remember, one of the main drivers behind each of the goals you put on your vision board is how you believe you will feel when you achieve this goal. Carefully choose words that evoke the feeling that you most want to experience.
Step 3: Make your vision board in Canva
Create your vision board using Canva and make a collage of your inspiring images.
I use Canva most of the time because I can add text in different fonts as overlays to make it even more motivating!
To accomplish this, create a new design, select a collage layout that suits you and then upload the photos you’ve chosen to the frames. Finally, add some text to further inspire you. The text can be a few simple words, or it can be a written affirmation or goal statement.
Here’s an example of one I recently created for my dream to travel to Bali!

Step 4: Save your vision board to your devices
Once you’re happy with your graphic, save it as the screensaver on your computer desktop and the wallpaper on your smartphone so you see it often. Visions boards work, they influence your subconscious mind! Every time you look at your screen remind yourself of how good it will be when you reach that goal.
Step 5: Use your vision board to help you reach your goal
To use this digital vision board to make your dreams a reality, use the photo collage as a reminder to focus intently on your goals and connect with your vision.
Look at your completed vision board first thing in the morning, throughout the day and the last thing at night. Next, project into the future and imagine, in detail, what your life will be like when you have achieved your goal.
To make your dreams as tangible and realistic as possible, ask yourself:
- How will I feel?
- Who will I be with?
- What will I be doing?
- What will I think about?
And most importantly remember that to achieve your goals you start with a commitment, create an action plan (break it down into small achievable steps), be ready and open to opportunities that show up.
Goals will never come true if all you do is dream about them. You’ve got to visualize it, stay focused, do the work and take inspired action.
