This was my view this morning 🐕
And because I love my healthy morning routine this is my view at the start of just about every morning.
I’ll let you in on a little secret, my morning routine is my favourite time of the day.
I know you’ve probably heard that spending intentional time in the morning is credited as the key to success.
But I’m not going down that path. Because you don’t need one more person telling you what to do. You don’t need one more voice telling you to hustle harder or dig deep and go all in and push more to reach your goals.
My guess, you’re probably already pretty successful.
We can make great money.
We can climb the corporate ladder.
We can have “all the things”
But what happens when you’ve done everything right and you feel empty?
When you get right down to it. It’s not just success you crave but meaningful success.
And that is a whole different ball game.
What we’re often missing is summed up in this quote;
No, we don’t need more sleep. It’s our souls that are tired, not our bodies. We need nature. We need magic. We need adventure. We need freedom. We need truth. We need stillness. We need to wake up and live.
So often we know we should have a morning routine for success, we know that having one is important, but we’re too tired, we’re too busy, we’ve got too many meetings, places to go and things to do.
If you’ve been wanting to create a morning routine but you’ve just never gotten around to it because you can’t decide how much time you need.
That’s wonderful, now is a great time to stop putting your dreams on hold. Use this time to plan and think about what you really want.
Decide on the impact you want to have and what changes you want to make.

And if you are ready to start laying a new habit in the morning you can use my Zero-To-Four framework to get started instead of trying to figure out how to make your own morning routine.
It’s a morning routine I designed so you can do it in 10-minutes flat and it will change your life.

Zero-To-Four Morning Routine
This practice combines five steps, each step uses a number as a prompt. Do them in order for one week and you’ll start to notice an improvement in how you feel. You’ll feel calmer, more aligned and you’ll be getting more accomplished too.
0 – Zero distractions
Start your day with zero distractions. Set your alarm to wake up 10-minutes earlier than normal, so you have uninterrupted time for your morning routine.
Zero distractions means don’t look at your phone first thing when you get out of bed. Avoid social, emails, notifications and texts for the first part of your day.
This is your time, prioritize your needs for these few minutes.
1- Drink a tall glass of water 💧
Your body is dehydrated first thing in the morning. Drink a tall glass of water!
2 – Find two things you are grateful for 🎉🎉
While you’re drinking your water, think of two things that you are grateful for. They can be simple things, like anticipating your first cup of coffee, that you have fresh clean water at the turn of the tap or even the quiet of the house before the day starts.
Feel the gratitude for your blessings. Being thankful makes us happier and we all want to be a little happier!
3 – Be quiet, meditate for 3-minutes 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏼♀️🧘🏼♀️
Set a timer, be quiet and sit for 3-minutes. Spend the 3-minutes focussed on your breath. Feel the breath enter through your nostrils, fill your lungs then notice the sensation as the air leaves your body.
If you would prefer to try a mini-guided meditation here are a few to experiment with.

It’s funny, many people are nervous to meditate. They tell me “I get distracted or I fall asleep”. They worry they won’t do it right.
I’ve got a surprise for you. There is no perfect way to meditate. We all get distracted; the purpose of meditation is not to avoid distraction but for you to train yourself to notice when you get distracted and gently bring your attention back.
4 – Move your body for 4 minutes 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
Stand up and move around. Stretch, do a few sun salutations, swing your arms back and forth, do some squats. It doesn’t matter what you do, just move and get your blood flowing.
That’s it 10-minutes (the perfect amount of time for a morning routine) and you’re ready to greet the day
PS: I’d love to invite you to listen to my interview on the podcast, Me Time Midlife
